CareersForward is actively seeking an experienced Crew Resources Manager - Payroll & Benefits for immediate consideration to place within a regionally recognized QSR fast upscale brand in the Lincoln Nebraska market. This is a newly created position.

Base compensation for this position will be up to $70k based on skills and experience.

Position Overview 

The Crew Resources Manager will be responsible for championing the company's mission, vision and values through all that he/she does on a daily basis. The position requires a strong foundation and experience in labor laws, governmental requirements/regulations and employee relations, talent management/recruiting and communications

The Crew Resources Manager (Payroll & Benefits) is responsible for the development, implementation, communication and administration of payroll, benefits & compensation. He/or she will coordinate, direct and control payroll preparation, processing and distribution by a third party administrator.  Manage all aspects of the administration and communication of the company's health and welfare benefit plans. Must maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments and applicable laws regarding human resources, payroll & benefits.

Major Responsibilities 

Coordinate, Direct and Control Payroll Preparation: 

  • Process new hire paperwork, separations, promotions, transfers and other changes of status
  • Ensure bi-weekly payroll is processed by third party provider in an accurate, compliant and timely manner for 500 – 1000 employees including vacation, holidays, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, etc.
  • Oversee administration of benefit plans (medical, disability and retirement savings)
  • Prepare relevant bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll filings
  • Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production with Controller

Coordinate, Direct and Control Benefit Programs:

  • Work with outside consultants to design, plan and manage the implementation, communication, and administration of Crewmember benefits programs such as health insurance, disability and related plans.
  • Manage annual (re)enrollment and ongoing enrollment processes for benefit plans. 
  • Serve as the company expert and provide Crewmember support on provided benefits.

Prepares Compensation Plans: 

  • Designs, plans, and implements compensation programs, policies and procedures; reviews programs and makes suggestions for improvement regularly to ensure a competitive market position.

Oversees Legally Required Benefits: 

  • Oversees administration of FMLA Leave; oversees administration of unemployment claims.

Prepares Semi-Annual Surveys and Evaluations: 

  • Coordinates and implements programs to measure, improve and reward employee performance; oversees the distribution of evaluations; oversees the distribution of culture and manager surveys; regularly evaluates the effectiveness of the program.

Maintains Legal Compliance

  • Ensures that the company follows Federal, State and Local laws. 

Position Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of relevant experience with payroll required
  • Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll processing system required
  • Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Three to five years of relevant experience with compensation & benefits preferred
  • CEBS, CBP, CPP, FPC, PHR or SPHR designation preferred

This position will work an average of at least 45-50 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
