Restaurant Manager - CareersForward - Bloomington IL

CareersForward is actively seeking a Restaurant Manager for immediate placement within a recognized fast casual brand at the local/regional level in Bloomington, IL. 

Compensation for this position will be up to $45k with a realistic work life balance - 2 days off per week. Some limited relocation assistance may be provided. 

The Restaurant Manager is a working general manager and will spend most of his/her time on the "floor" actively managing daily operations. This is not an office/desk job. The Restaurant Manager is a coach and a leader and will work in a fast paced and every changing environment on a daily basis.  

Qualifications for this opportunity are as listed;

  • The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the dining room/bar areas of the restaurant 
  • Some P&L responsibility
  • Responsible for supervising front of house staff and typically reporting to the General Manager
  • Manage a team of up to 45+ employees 
  • Oversee that all opening and closing duties are completed correctly and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained
  • Responsible for the correct operation of the POS systems
  • Balancing of all daily and nightly cash drawers and POS
  • Inventory and maintenance of par levels for front of house items
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests and excellent leadership to employees
  • Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards 
  • Handle guest complaints according 
  • 2+ years restaurant experience
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including word and excel

Operations

  • Ensure the restaurant operates efficiently and effectively within the Company’s fiscal and operational guidelines.
  • Monitor overall operations of the restaurant including guest satisfaction, food quality, and ambiance.
  • Develop and monitoring daily, weekly, and annual sales projections and maintain restaurant budget.
  • Food Production and Preparation
  • Ensure all menu items are made according to established specifications.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.

Marketing

  • Develop initiatives to build sales, profitability and Guest counts.
  • Provide positive Guest relations
  • Staffing and Team Development
  • Train, supervise, coach and counsel restaurant staff.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Compliance and Safety
  • Monitor safety and security procedures to maintain the safety and health of Teammates and Guests.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a broad range of individuals both within the company and externally.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong math and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Set clear priorities and see to it that they are followed.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed mode.
  • Work well under pressure and be able to respond to continuously changing needs.
  • Open to a flexible schedule.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check screening.
